HISTORY
History of the organization
GHIZZONI S.p.A. was founded in the 1950’s through Cesare Ghizzoni’s entrepreneurial spirit.
Over the years the Company has progressed continuously and become more and more specialized in the pipeline construction sector.
The current company name is a consequence of the company’s transformation into a private limited company, which took place in 1986 in order to meet the changing requirements of the regulations as well as the market.
The passion, skill and entrepreneurial courage of the ownership has made it possible for the Company to rapidly make a name for itself on the national market. Moreover, in the 1990’s, the Company started to expand as a European as well.
The opening up and liberalization of the market were sized as a further opportunity for progress and improvement in a specialized sector that is characterized by strong competition as well as the selective requisites of Quality, Safety and Environmental Protection.
At a European level GHIZZONI S.p.A can proudly say that it has been qualified to work with all the major energy companies and has carried out evermore important pipeline construction works in Italy, Switzerland, France, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Ireland, Austria, Greece and Croatia for a total of more than 5,000 kilometres of pipelines with all diameters of up to 60”.
In conformity with the EN ISO 9001:2000 standard, the Company’s Quality system has been certified through Lloyd’s register Quality Assurance Limited and was, moreover, the first Italian company in the pipeline sector to obtain this certification. This not only represents an important achievement for GHIZZONI S.p.A., but is also stimulus for continuous improvement.
The Company is also focusing its energies on the actuation of a Safety Environmental Protection policy that can help the company better meet the evermore impelling and strict requirements of our major clients. The Company is certified OHSAS 18001:2007 and ISO 14001:2004.
GHIZZONI S.p.A.’s continuous and constant improvement, expansion and renewal of its equipment, with particular attention towards new technologies, installations and devices realized directly in-house set GHIZZONI S.p.A.’s business approach apart from its competitors thanks to its flexibility, quick decision-making abilities as well as the direct and complete management of projects in particularly difficult environmental and time schedule situations.
The acquisition of the company branch Saipem Italia in November 2000 made it possible for the Company to increase its direct operational potential to approximately 3,500,000 working hours/year to the expansion of the already considerable fleet of means and equipment, which can now be accordingly considered as the first in Europe for size, power, completeness, efficiency and maintenance status.
GHIZZONI S.p.A.’s strategy is to continue to pursue avant-garde technology through continuous investment in research and development as well as to grow inside the European market without, however, neglecting new opportunities outside of Europe and in similar sectors.
Up to the present, GHIZZONI S.p.A. has demonstrated that its company organization is capable of taking advantage of all the opportunities of a constantly evolving and expanding market.
